Hella Hella Adventure Centre

In the July holidays, we embarked to the beautifully set Hella Hella Adventure Centre in Richmond, to explore the "Time" through the Liturgical Calender and God as the Alpha & Omega.
Our camp started in the season of Advent, as we discussed the concept of preparation and "time", standing amongst our big Advent Wreath. Following dinner and some mind-boggling mind-games, it was off to bed before an action-packed Saturday!
Santa Claus woke everyone up on Saturday morning as Christmas came around early as we delved into the season of Christ's birth! After a team building session on the obstacle courses, we stepped right into the "Ordinary"; as Fr. Justin lead a proclaim and discussions on Ordinary Time, right on the banks of the Umkomaas River.
Scrumptious lunch followed before foofy sliding into the river, taking a leap of faith and some afternoon soccer. After our afternoon fun in the sun, we quietened down into the prayerful and preparative season of Lent, through Stations of the Cross scattered throughout the grounds. After dinner, we experienced the conversion of darkness to light through a testimony and a beautiful session of Adoration, signifying the greatest season; Easter. The day finished with a night-time hike, star-gazing and marshmallows around the bonfire!
Sunday morning started at a more restful pace as we munched on crumpets, set off on a hike around the surrounding mountains (incl. eating oranges from the orchard trees), and heard about how our God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, and the fulcrum of our lives. This all-compassing and never-ending love of his is continually demonstrated to us, but none more so than in Holy Mass. And thats how we finished the weekend - celebrating Sunday Mass on the deck overlooking the unending beauty created for us.
All in all, an awesomely action-packed weekend was had by all, as our balance of team building activities, active discussions and prayerful contemplation certainly has gotten us excited for new years adventure already!
