Rich history of Hella Hella
History of Hella Hella: “Ihela, Ihela” walk in single file commands the herdsman as they herd there cattle through the thick, almost impenetrable bush to reach the grasslands at the top of the valley.
Hella Hella boasts a rich history of events, folklore, myths and campfire stories. With building over 110 years old it is hard to believe that people have been inhabiting this very remote still untouched valley for so long.
The original building at Hella Hella farm was built in 1913/1914 and was used as a trading post between the Eastern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal, today this building is our dining hall.
The farm was also used for farming and over the past 20 years has been successfully run as an outdoor and adventure education centre, for school and church groups, as well as corporate teambuilding – with many clients returning to enjoy what Hella Hella Adventure Centre has to offer.
